Things to Consider before Applying for a Server Link ----->>>

Basic server requirements

• Access and permission to run an IRC server on a Unix style (Unix, Linux, FreeBSD etc) system
• The server hardware and connectivity should be able to support thousands of concurrent clients
• Ability to keep the IRCd up 24/7/365 (excluding downtime for maintenance)
• You should run the IRCd on at least a virtual private server. Dedicated servers are prefered
• A client capacity of at least 1024 is required for a server located in the United States or Europe. Smaller servers may be considered for other locations.

Administrator requirements

• You should be at least 18 years of age
• You should be able to communicate well in English. Knowing other languages is a plus.
• You should have a lot of past experience with IRC, running IRC servers, and being an IRC operator
• You should be a regular AVPnet user, and genuinely interested in improving the network.
• You should be able to spend a reasonable amount of your time on improving the network
• Experience developing software with C/C++ for Unix based systems is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of how to configure and secure your chosen platform is a big plus.
